Just to update

So school is in full swing. Jon working at Sojourn with his 15 kiddos and me at Rolling Hills with my 285. We both are very much enjoying our jobs and loving life. With Christmas coming up we are both really excited about what we got each other. I honestly think that we are more excited for other person to open their gifts more than we are excited to opening our own. Now that it has gotten colder (It has been snowing all weekend) Jon has put the motorcycle away for the winter and it has been a trick making sure that we are where we need to be when we need to be there with the one car. It's been interesting but kinda fun juggling the car.

Thanksgiving, Tyson's Wedding, Christmas, the unexpected. Between all of this happening in the next month I'm sure there will be more to post soon.... Until then!

It's been awhile...

It's been awhile since I've posted so I figured I would update. Jon and I are doing well. Work is going great. The school year has almost come to an end and it is an exciting but very stressful time. All the the students keep acting like it's almost summer which makes it almost impossible to effectively teach because they don't sit down and be quiet long enough. On a good note I have (only 2 years later) FINALLY finish our reception book. I will be ordering it tomorrow and then get started on our "bridal" book. I'm just WAY too much of a perfectionist to be doing this but it has to be done. Anyway so for now that is it. Let's hope it's not as long between and my next post.

California Trip 2/14/2010-2/20/2010

Well I figured that I should update considering I havn't in forever!!!
We went to California to celebrate Jon's grandmothers life at her memorial. We also got to see many family members that I had not yet met. We drove down and back making for a VERY long trip. On the way down we stopped at Fisherman's Pier and had a fresh seafood lunch right over the ocean. After lunch Jon and I took a rock, put all of our troubles and threw it into the ocean. It was very relieving and nice to take a walk in the sand along the ocean. We played in the tadpools and found some fun sea creatures and enjoyed touching the water. Once we got to our hotel room in Ontario, CA it was nice to just go to sleep. The next day we headed into Glendora for breakfast with Barry's family and then off to the church to set up for the memorial service. The church was in a very quaint area with lots of fun cute shops. Jon and I took a walk around the streets through the many shops and just enjoyed each others company. We really used this vacation as a pseudo second honeymoon and took any chance we could to spend alone time together. After the memorial service we had pizza and conversation at Uncle Terry's place. It was very nice to meet and talk to Barry's family. On Sunday we went over to Rex and Shay's to meet Rachel's mom and brother. It was fun to meet more family and we really enjoyed having lunch and many funny conversation. Jon and I came home with many very fun toys from Rod. We will enjoy firing them once we have the time to. We left California on Monday for the two day drive back. Some car trouble had us stuck in Barstow for a couple hours but it wasn't all bad because we found a Lucky Jeans outlet where Jon got two pairs of jeans for the price of one at the original price. We stopped in Las Vegas for dinner. I tried to see April and her family but because I wasn't smart enough to plan the meet time with a time change so we missed eachother. :( I was sad not to see them but we moved on. We spent the night in St. George and moved on through to Salt Lake the next day where we spent some time with Isaac's family at lunch. Then a couple hours at the distribution center where I got my first temple dress (it's so perfect). Finally we made it home late on Tuesday. We rested on Wednesday and back to work on Thursday. Wow.... what a week. Anyway it was fun. And my New Year's resolution is to blog more. Well see how this works... Pictures to follow :) :) :)

School's out for summer!!

Well school is finally out this year and with it comes great joy and excitement. Jon and I have both received a job at a company called A New Leaf, it is a company that works with the developmentally disabled. We have both been given the title of transfer employees. We will work with children going from DT services to IBI services and are both looking forward to it. With school out and our schedules being remotely the same for the first time since we've been married we hope to have a summer full of fun. Including being much better at taking pictures so that you can keep an eye on the many wonderful changes happening. :)

The Latest and Greatest

So the latest news is that we are doing well. We have had better times, Jon has been laid off from work, but really we can't get discouraged we know the next job will be bigger and better for us. On the other hand, an amazing number of opportunities have opened up for me at work. I can hardly believe how wonderful this job has been for me and how many great things I have learned from the wonderful staff and administration. We are going to Utah this weekend to visit Grandma and Grandpa Kussee for the first time since they got off their mission. Jon and I are very excited because this will be the first time Jon is able to spend an extended amount of time with them, I'm sure it will go great.

Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year

UPDATE: Jonathan's birthday was December 12th. It all went very well and we had lots of fun. I made a cookie monster cake because a story is told that at two years old Jon's mom made him a cookie monster cake, when they lit his candles he freaked out and started crying, "Don't burn cookie monster!" They had to take him out of the room and blow out the candles. They couldn't eat the cake because he didn't want to eat cookie monster. So as a very funny joke I made him a cookie monster cake again. It turned out really well and we really enjoyed each others company while we celebrated and ate cookie monster. And he did let us light the candles and he did blow them out all by himself.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out on the 23rd. All went well, the recovery was quick and almost enjoyable because I was able to spend time with family. It was however much much more painful than I would have ever imagined and I did loose some weight because I was put on a soft food diet for about two weeks which really limits the food you can eat!

We had a wonderful First Christmas together. We enjoyed the gifts that we received and enjoyed even more the reactions from the gifts that we gave. Santa visited us both :) We both are so grateful for the opportunity that we have to be part of a bigger family and all of the fun that it entails.

Our New Year was a wonderful one. We both of course made our goals for this year. My biggest one is to be a better house wife. Make the dinner, keep the house clean, and do the laundry. While keeping up on my work and myself.

We are excited for this New Year and are really excited about celebrating a year together next month!
